

Minden, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Edward James Dillman, Jr., 85, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Matt Cate. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Centuries.
James was born on April 4, 1929 in Shreveport, LA and passed away on September 8, 2014. Mr. Dillman was a loving and devoted husband, stepdad, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. James served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Shreveport for 20 years ad then became a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Minden for 8 years. Mr. Dillman worked for 25 years as a hand-glass cutter at Libbey-Owens-Ford in Shreveport.
Mr. Dillman was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Doris Jean Dillman; parents, Edward and Catherine Dillman and stepson, Gentry G. Gamble and son-in-law, Roger D. Hale, Sr.
Left to cherish beautiful memories of James are his brother, Wayne Dillman and wife Carol; stepson, Jack W. Gamble, Jr.; stepdaughter, Jeana Hale; grandchildren, Roger D. Hale, Jr., Ryan G. Hale, Jamie E. DeLoach, Trey Gamble, Baron Wheeler-Gamble and Trevor Wheeler-Gamble; great grandchildren, Braden N. Hale, Madeline J. Hale and MaeBelle R. Pigott. Mr. Dillman is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Honoring Mr. Dillman as pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews.
