Evelyn C Bailiff

Evelyn C Bailiff, of Stonewall, Louisiana went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at the age of 90. Evelyn was born June 12, 1932 in Castor, Louisiana to Franklin and Mary Farley McGraw. She married the love of her life, John on January 31, 1948. Evelyn was a devoted military wife, loving mother and grandmother. She treasured time with her family. She was a wonderful cook who loved organizing meal times with family and friends, especially her peach cobbler. Evelyn loved sewing and spending time in her garden and enjoyed camping and traveling. Evelyn was a devoted member of Salem Baptist Church in Stonewall. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her best and loved her most. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sandra E. Bailiff; granddaughter Cassie Tyler (Paul); great granddaughter, Porsche Tyler; brothers, L.D. McGraw (Elsie), William "Bill" McGraw and Gene McGraw (Sandy); sister. Virginia McGraw Alexander. Also left to cherish her memory are numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 76 years, John L Bailiff and daughter, Sherry Ann Allen. A visitation for Evelyn will be held Friday, March 10, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00 AM with Dr. Mike Hawkins officiating. Evelyn will be laid to rest in Centuries Memorial Park. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mike Smoke, Bill McGraw, Gene McGraw and Ron Ouzts. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Heritage Manor South and LifePatch Hospice, especially Caitlyn, for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made in Evelyn's name to Salem Baptist Church, 5187 LA-3276, Stonewall, Louisiana 71078.
