With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Evia Joiner Tyler, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and cherished friend.
Evia lived a full and meaningful life surrounded by the things she treasured most — her family, her friends, and the many memories she created through her life full of travel and adventure. She loved horses, quilting, and serving along side her husband with the Shriners for 16 years helping needy children receive life saving care. She was a strong, witty, and loving woman whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and comfort to those blessed to know her.
As a devoted Christian woman, She loved deeply, gave generously, and showed kindness and strength through every season. Her wisdom, humor, and unwavering love will continue to live on through the generations.
Evia was preceded in death by her parents Charles Clifton Joiner and mother Mae Williamson Joiner, her siblings Jw, Clifton, Loris, Dorothy, William, Elenor, Jerry Charles, her beloved husband William Headrick Tyler, and her sons William Dewy Tyler and Gary Allen Tyler, whom she loved dearly.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and treasured memories to be cherished by her three grandchildren Thomas Tyler his wife Margaret, Alexander Tyler, Tricia Moon and her Husband David. Her brother-in-law Donnie Tyler, and wife Eleene. Her many great-grandchildren, and her great-great-grandchildren, along with countless friends and loved ones whose lives were touched by her kindness.
Though she will be deeply missed, we find comfort knowing that her faith has become sight as she is now with our Lord and savior and that she is reunited with those who went before her. Her love will remain in our hearts forever.
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions… I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself.”
— John 14:1–3 (KJV)
