Floy was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she was involved in several different ministries. She especially enjoyed traveling with her Sunday School class and would always sit at the back of the bus having a great time. Floy loved the Lord with all of her heart and lived her life serving Him. She was a Christian who didn't fear death because she knew she would spend eternity with her Lord. For this, we will see her again. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her best and loved her most.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Emory Alexander; son, Neil Alexander, and parents, Dennis Gunter and Josie Gunter Anderson.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Travis Alexander (Stephanie), daughter, Diane Hernandez (Paul), brothers, Bobby Gunter and Lester Anderson; sister, Patsy Gilcrease. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Floy will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108 followed by a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. Officiating the service will be Rev. Will Simmons. Inurnment will take place in Centuries Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church missions fund.
