

With great sadness, we are experiencing the passing of Frances Derrick. She was born on Dec. 27, 1947 in Mansfield, Louisiana to Walter L. and Rubye Welch. Frances passed away on June 25, 2026 in Bossier City, Louisiana at the age of 78.
Surviving Frances is her husband of 56 years, Carl Derrick, “C.A.”; her daughter, Amy Derrick Everage, husband, Jason Everage, grandsons, Reed and Coleman Everage who affectionately called her Frannie. Siblings, Lonnie Welch and wife, Jane, Jack Welch and wife, Sue, Bob Welch and wife, Donna, and Alice Seago and husband, Kenneth; Brother in law, Jim Derrick and wife, Jill.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Walter L. Welch, “PawPaw”and Rubye Welch, “MawMaw”.
Frances' love of flowers led her to her occupation as a florist for The Colony House of Flowers in Shreveport. She loved her Sunday School Class friends while at Pinecroft Baptist and Brookwood Baptist in Shreveport, and most recently Cypress Baptist Church in Benton. Frances had a quirky sense of humor and always up for fun, her joyful & witty personality made her the life of the party. She was loved by so many.
Services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, at Cypress Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment, 2:00 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.Officiating the services will be Wayne Spears and John Fream.
Pallbearers are Jack Welch, Lonnie Welch, Bob Welch, Walter Welch, John McLaurin, Jason Everage and Honorary Pallbearers Reed and Coleman Everage.
Because of Frances’ love of flowers, those who desire to send flowers, may do so, being assured that the family will make a donation to the LA Baptist Children's Home and Family Ministries, P.O. Box 4196, Monroe, LA.
Frances’ family would like to extend special thanks for the love and support of her Cypress Baptist Church Sunday School Class and The Mansfield Graduating Class of 1965 “The 65ers”; and with Amy and her family out of the country, her friends who have made certain the C.A. has been cared for. Their help and support has been invaluable to him during this time.
