

Glenda “Gail” Edwardes, age 52, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend; Passed away on Saturday May 21, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be held from 5pm until 8pm Tuesday May 24, 2011 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church at 3pm Wednesday May 25, 2011. Officiating will be Bro. Mike Stowell and Pastor Rick Edmonds. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park.
Gail was born on July 10, 1958 in Shreveport, LA to Betty H. Martin and the late Charles Sanford Ashley. She was a faithful and active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for 30 years. Gail was a beautiful woman who loved living and most importantly loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed helping others and impacting lives; she never met a stranger.
Gail was a loving and devoted wife to her husband of over 36 years Brad Edwardes. She will be greatly missed by her best friend and companion who loved her so dearly. The joys of her life are her children; Bradley and Gentry. She also had a special love for her mother.
Gail had a special ministry through her beauty shop where she met and came to love and help a lot of her closest friends. She also volunteered her time at the American Cancer Society for several years in the “Look Good, Feel Better” Program. Her faith, strength, and positive attitude have been an inspiration to all who knew her and she will be forever cherished and missed.
She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Ashley; sisters, Laura Sparks, Rose Fry; nephew, Randall Rivers; and step father, John B. Joiner.
Gail is survived by her husband, Brad Edwardes; daughter, Gentry Edwardes Harlan; son, Bradley Edwardes Jr. & wife Lauren Edwardes; mother, Betty Martin; brothers, Wayne Ashley and Jason Martin; Sisters, Brenda Ashley and Lisa Glover; nieces and nephews and her little poodle Gismo.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Gentry, Ray Sattler, Brien Harlan, Raymond Oakes, Harold Giddens, and Jeff Taylor.
