Gloria went by many names, to most she was Nanny, to some the Nanster and to her husband, Glor Jean. She was an amazing person. She was an accomplished cook, a lover of retail and a charmer of slot machines. Her face never shined brighter than when she was talking about her family. Her funny sassy personality will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Larry Ashley and wife, Deborah and Don Ashley and wife, Debbie. She also leaves 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Quay Ashley; son, Gary Lee Ashley; parents and siblings, Norma Hargis and Pete Martin.
A visitation for Gloria will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Following the visitation will be a celebration of life at 1:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. She will be laid to rest in Centuries Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers are Jason Ashley, JR Liverman, Chris Rosson, Billy Ashley, Luke Borrell and Brandon Ashley.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Heritage Manor Stratmore Nursing Home and LifePath Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Nanny.
