Gordon accomplished many things in his life, which he was proud of, serving his country honorably in the United States Army; retiring from General Motors in 2005; retiring from Enterprise in 2018; and working as an operator for numerous years at HAM Radio. He had a strong love for Jesus and was longtime member of Summer Grove Baptist Church in Shreveport. Gordon enjoyed watching sports and listening to Gospel music. He loved spending his birthdays with family and friends eating catfish and spending as much time with his family as he could. He adored his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gayle Russell; daughter, Suzanne Russell Randolph (Phillip); brother, Ray Russell (Dot); sister, Martha Sexton; step-daughter, Melanie Duff; step-sons, Joel Kitterlin and Stephen Kitterlin; grandchildren, Lena, Brenton, Chase, Christian, Jack, Dylan, Luke, and Jaylee; great-grandchildren, Emory and Judah; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
