Graveside services for Mr. Guy William Hamil, Jr. will be held 3:30 p.m., Thursday, December 2, 2010 with Pastor Trey Lewis of Kingston Road Baptist Church officiating in Centuries Memorial Park, Shreveport, Louisiana. The family will be receiving guests for visitation Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from the hours of 5-7 p.m. at Centuries.
Mr. Hamil was born May 24, 1958 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Guy William Hamil, Sr. and Nancy Alice Gray Hamil. Mr. Hamil was called to his heavenly home November 28, 2010 at Ochsner’s Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mr. Hamil enjoyed fishing, hunting, and most things that involved the outdoors. Mr. Hamil had a passion for NASCAR, and his Saints football team. Mr. Hamil will be remembered most as an attentive husband, devoted father, loving brother, doting grandfather, and a compassionate friend to those who knew him best.
Mr. Hamil is preceded in death by his father. Left to cherish Mr. Hamil’s memory and tell his stories will be his mother, Nancy Hamil-Sandifer; his beloved wife; Mildred Joyce Lambright Hamil, one daughter; Dwan Hamil Lawson and husband Christopher, two sons: Chad and Glenn Lambright, one adopted daughter; Lori Curnell, one sister; Susan Hoff and husband Lynn, two brothers: Kenny Hamil, and Mark Hamil, Sr., three granddaughters, five grandsons, along with many extended family members and a host a great friends.
Honoring Mr. Hamil as pallbearers will be Mark Hamil, Jr., Justin Hall, Chris Hall, Keith Mock, Richard Reynolds, and Jonathan Russell.
The family would like to extend a special thanks for the exceptional healthcare he received at Ochsner’s Medical Center in New Orleans and from Kelly Novak N.P. of Benton, LA and to everyone that shared compassion and support to the his family during their time of need.
