It hurts my heart to hear of Harry Paul’s passing. He was a tremendous influence in the type of leader and person I wanted to be. He was an incredibly loyal friend and mentor who wasn’t afraid to tell you what you needed to hear. He will be truly missed.

My condolences to the family and may God hold you in his healing embrace.

Harry Paul was a loving and caring soul. He and Mr. Branam would come to our Retiree Dinner's prior to COVID and he was always so happy. Every year, I would ask if they wanted to stay on Camp Beauregard and he would say No. Since they wouldn't stay I made him promise me when they traveled home after the dinner that he would call me and let me know they made it no matter the time. And sure enough, he would. I will truly miss him and whenever we are able to have Retiree Dinner's again, his absence will be deeply felt.

Deepest Condolences,
Christina "CJ" Batiste

In the 25 years of my military service, I can list the soldiers who I truly enjoyed being around on two hands...probably one. You were one of those. You picked me up when things were down countless times. You made me laugh even more.
And...you crushed my hand with those vice-grip fingers of yours many many more times. I wish you could crush it again.
Love you, Brother...will see you again.

It is the “Soldier”
In Memorial Honor to SFC Harry Paul Wright
Louisiana National Guard

It’s the Soldier,
not the pastor/preacher, who has given us freedom of religion and worship.
It’s the Soldier,
not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.
It’s the Soldier,
not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It’s the Soldier,
not the demonstration organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble and demonstrate.
It’s the Soldier,
not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It’s the Soldier,
not the politician, who has given us the right to vote, ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
It’s the Soldier, Who salutes the Flag, who serves beneath the Flag and whose coffin is draped by the Flag, who gives the protester the right to burn the flag.

The American Soldier does not serve and fight because he hates who is in front of him; he serves and fights because he loves who is behind him.

Harry Paul was one of a kind. I had a chance to work with him at Camp Minden and he could do more with less than anyone I knew. A great gentleman, friend who I will miss.

Harry Paul was a good family friend, fellow veteran and all around decent man. If wasn't for him, I would have never joined the military (Louisiana Army National Guard). Harry Paul will be deeply missed and will always be remembered.
