Mr. Ines Zuniga, a resident of Shreveport, passed away at the age of 55 on Monday, July 4, 2016, in Shreveport. He was born on January 21, 1961, to the late Pedro Zuniga and the late Medarda Olvera in Guanajuato, Mexico. Ines came to the United States at the age of 18 and started working in the restaurant industry, work that he would continue for the next 30 years. He owned and operated El Compadre in Shreveport for nine years, working alongside his family, making many friends and meeting new faces every day. When he wasn’t working, he loved running throughout his neighborhood and participating in 5K races. His real passion in life was his family, who he cherished spending time with. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Enedina; his son, Juan Jose; his daughter, Gemma; his brothers, Geronimo, Ignacio, David, Lidio, and Pedro; and his sister, Maria de los Angeles.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, July 7, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Shreveport from 6:00 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 8, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Juan Jose, David, David Jr., Ignacio, Pedro, and Ismael. He will be laid to rest in the Centuries Memorial Park following the service. Reverend Philip Michiels and Reverend Rigoberto Betancurt will be conducting the services.
