Jack Poché was born on December 17, 1929, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He went home to be with the Lord on February 17, 2026 at the age of 96. Jack was a lifelong resident of the area, leaving a legacy of hard-work, dedication and love for his community and family.
Jack was a graduate of Fair Park High School and Centenary College. He proudly served his country as a retired U.S. Army Reserves Lt. Colonel and later became a respected home builder for over 30 years in the Shreveport/Bossier area.
He spent 63 wonderful years with his beloved wife, Wanda Henley Poché. Together, they shared a passion for animals, particularly through rescuing boxers. After Wanda's passing in May of 2020, Jack continued to embrace life by traveling with family, enjoying many cruises and getaways.
Jack had a deep love for classical music and played the violin with the first Shreveport Symphony. He also enjoyed fishing and was an avid fan of LSU football. He was devoted member of Graceway Fellowship Church.
Jack is survived by his niece, Carol Scott, and nephews, Danny Scott (Sarah), Bill Johnson (Kay), Albert Scott (Karen), and James Johnson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Henley Poché; his parents, Albert Poché and Edna Robertson Poché; his sisters, Albertine Scott and Dorothy Johnson; and his nephew, John Robert Johnson.
Visitation will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA, on February 21, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 am. Officiating the service will be Pastor Rick McDonald of Graceway Fellowship Church. Jack will be laid to rest at Centuries Memorial Park.
Pallbearers honoring Jack's life will be James Johnson, Danny Scott, Albert Scott, Kevin Mims, Jamey Johnson and Jeremy Johnson.
