

STONEWALL, LA. – Jack “Top” Anderson, 82, passed away following a lengthy illness on Thursday, February 12, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home in Shreveport, LA. The service will take place on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Price officiating.
Jack was born in Noble, LA on June 1, 1932. After graduating from Noble High School he served honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict. While stationed in Corpus Christi, TX, he married the love of his life, Jo Anne Rivers. After completion of his military service, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. Following employment with Phillips Petroleum he worked for Morton Thiokol Corporation in Minden, Louisiana retiring after 30 years of service. Jack was a family man. His interests included anything that brought family together. He enjoyed camping, fishing, aviation, antique tractors, cooking, and country music. Jack was an avid LSU Football fan enjoying tailgating with family and good friends Jim and Jackie Saxon. Also, Paw Paw loved his little granddogs Bogey and Sammie.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Katherine and Jack H. Anderson, and sister, Barbara Parker. Among those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Jo Anne Anderson; sister, LaNell Rogers; brother, Orland Ray Anderson; son, Michael Anderson, and wife, Phyllis; son, Jeffrey Anderson, and wife, Cathy; son, Kevin Anderson, and wife, Michelle; granddaughters, Rachael Peters, and husband, Jarrett; Jessica Levesque; Grandsons, Garrett Anderson and Cade Anderson; great-grandchildren, Brennan Cox and Brielle Cox. He is also survived by extended family members and friends. Honoring Jack as pallbearers are Garrett Anderson, Cade Anderson, Richie Brown, Troy Kapner, Keith Parker, Jarrett Peters, Marty Rogers, and Jim Saxon.
The family would like to thank Dr. Fleniken, Byron Hines, Wanda Harris, and the entire staff of the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home for the loving care they provided. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home, 3130 Arthur Ray Teague Parkway, Bossier City, LA 71112.
