Obituary Jacqueline “Jackie” Daigle Hodge December 26, 1934 – January 13, 2020

On Monday, January 13, 2020, Jacqueline Daigle Hodge, 85, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed from this life and went to our Heavenly Father following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Jacqueline was born December 26, 1934, to Gaylon Louise Daigle, Sr., and Lurline Raborn Daigle in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Jacqueline, known as Jackie to her friends, was a beloved wife, mother, sister, granny, and friend. She spent most of her life in Bossier City graduating with honors from Bossier High School in 1952 where she was a proud Bearkat cheerleader, class favorite, football sweetheart for the homecoming court, and selected as best dressed. She was an excellent student and spoke at her graduation on “The Power of Being Happy.” She began her career in bookkeeping at Beasley-Keith Insurance in Bossier City and worked at Barksdale Federal Credit Union from which she retired in 1990. She and her husband are members of the First Baptist Church, Benton, Louisiana.

A gifted pianist, Jacqueline continued her love for the piano and classical music throughout her life. She was a talented artist and in her younger years enjoyed drawing portraits of family and friends. An avid reader, she looked forward to her monthly book club meetings and discussions. A gifted and creative seamstress, she found immense pleasure in sewing fashions for herself, her daughters, and family. She always loved flowers and took pride in her beautiful yard and azaleas. Until becoming ill, she was an avid shopper and bargain hunter.

Jacqueline is predeceased by her parents and infant daughter, Tracy Lynn Lattier. Left to cherish her loving memory are her husband Rupert Earl Hodge of Shreveport, Louisiana; brother Gaylon Louis Daigle, Jr., and wife Priscilla of Bossier City, Louisiana; daughters Donna Lattier Jones and husband Carl of Natchitoches, Louisiana, Pari Lattier White and husband Randy of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Lisa Lattier Plette and husband Richard of Katy, Texas; stepchildren Brenda Hodge Kors and husband David of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Randy Hodge of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Melanie Hodge Lawless of Shreveport, Louisiana; grandchildren Bradley Jones and wife Christin, Wesley Jones, Brittany Jones Ionescu and husband Stefan, Randall White and wife Ashley, Luke White and wife Heather, Claire White, Micah White, Jacob Plette, and Andrew Plette, Joscelyn Baynham Decuir and husband Cartrell, Jennifer Baynham Laird and husband Jason, Adrienne Kors Horn and husband Clay, Angela Hodge McFerren and husband Michael, Amy Hodge, Megan Lawless Caldwell and husband Toby, Andrew Lawless, and Tori Lawless; great grandchildren Camden Jones, Brynn Jones, Carson White, Casen Decuir, Cole Decuir, Blayne McFerren, Colt McFerren, Eli Caldwell, Nainoa Caldwell, Kase Caldwell, and Amelia Caldwell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
