Shreveport, LA On Friday night James P. “Jimbo” Brown left this life to go to Heaven to be with Jesus and his Mom and Dad. Jimbo was a very special person. Born with Downs Syndrome, he never let it hold him back from living life to its fullest. He was born August 6, 1959 to Gene and Martha Brown who preceded him in death. He is survived by his brother, Gene Brown, Jr., his best friend and brother Tom Brown and wife Sue, and his sister, Susie Jester and husband Dickie as well as many cousins, nephews, nieces and many many friends all over the state. He never met a stranger, and spread love to all who were privileged to meet him. Thanks to two friends, Andrew Stevenson and Albert Hinson, along with the help of his brother Tom Brown, he became a member of the masonic fraternity, Cedar Grove Lodge #403, The York Rite, Scottish Rite, Shrine and Eastern Star. He served as an officer in many of these. He served as Sentinel of The Grand Royal Arch Chapter and Grand Council of Cryptic Masons. He was a lifelong member of Central Christian Church of Shreveport.
A service celebrating the life of Jimbo will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2016, 10:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 until 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
He will be missed by so many and although he is gone he will not be forgotten.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the First Masonic District Dyslexia Learning Center or Central Christian Church.
