James Henry Heins, born April 10, 1930 in Bossier City, Louisiana, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 15, 2021. He was surrounded by his family. Jack was a proud Korean War Veteran. He worked as a senior lineman for SWEPCO for 38 years where he demonstrated his unbelievable work ethic by never turning down an after hours service call, even parking his truck when he could drive no further during ice storms and walking the last miles. He missed only 13 days of work in his 38 years. Jack was a solid rock of consistency for his friends, neighbors and family. He practiced his faith every Sunday and lived it the other six days of the week. He had unconditional love for his family and his favorite activity was sitting, or most often standing proudly watching his children, then grandchildren, then great grandchildren in school programs, graduations and sports activities, traveling as many miles as required.
His daughters are convinced that the Lord has this wonderful man a new workshop filled with tools and plenty of beautiful green grass to mow out behind his mansion. The outdoor TV is playing a continuous loop of LSU's National Championship game, and no FOX news.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and son-in-law. Jack was preceded in death by his son James Gregory Heins. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 70 years Norma Snider Heins, his three daughters, Tricia Huckaby and husband Mike, Sandra Boulware and husband Doug, and Melissa Spoor and husband Tom. He is also survived by many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA, Monday, July 19, 2021 with visitation from 1pm-2pm and funeral to begin at 2pm.
