Jim served his country in the United States Air Force for 22 years achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. After retirement he worked for Lenox Corporation and other affiliated corporations. Jim loved caring for his family, attending family reunions, and traveling in his RV. He was a very private person, but loved family fiercely. He was a generous, optimistic person. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him best and loved him most.
Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Bartlett Goodwin Kyler; second wife, Avis Delight Vansice Kyler and grandson, Dr. Kevin Charles Huston.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Rosa Lea Foy of Haughton, LA; grandsons, Gene Goodwin of Plano, TX and Charles Goodwin (Edie) of Bowling Green, Teddy Rex Pearsall (Sandra) of Haughton, LA; granddaughter, Kim Neeson (Damon) of Shreveport, LA; great grandson, Joey Rex Pearsall of Haughton, LA; granddaughter-in-law, Monique Huston. Jim also leaves behind a host of great grandchildren, friends and other relatives.
A Graveside Service will be held Monday, November 13, 2023 at 11:00 am at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. Interment will follow the service.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Teddy and Sandra Pearsall for lovingly caring for Jim the past seven years, and also the Saint Joseph Carpenter House Hospice nurses and staff for their excellent care.
