Shreveport, LA- A memorial service will be held in honor of James Forrest Paddie, 74, on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport.
James passed away July 7, 2013, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He grew up in Benson, Louisiana, attended Pelican High School and Northwestern State University. He moved to Shreveport after marrying his high school sweetheart, Ruth, and they had 53 wonderful years together. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Karla Ingram of Memphis, Tennessee and Debra Cline of Shreveport; and three granddaughters, Jessica Houston, Rachel Cline and Emily Cline.
Throughout James’ lifetime, he excelled at many sports and was most recently a highly decorated track athlete. He competed in the Master’s Track circuit across the United States from California to Massachusetts; and from Canada to Hawaii, winning dozens of gold and silver medals.In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
