Born on February 20, 1933, in Foreman, Arkansas, J.D. was the son of the late John Dee Madden and Mabel Brown Madden.
He graduated from Foreman High School in 1951 and was the oldest son of seven siblings. J.D.’s father died unexpectedly when he was 14 years old; his lifelong wish to have more time with him has come true with their heavenly reunion. At the age of 14, J.D. quickly took on the role of helping his mother support his siblings. At age 18, he began working for Western Union Telegraph Company as a lineman, and at age 26, he was married with children, and traveled abroad to Hawaii and Japan as Western Union’s Equipment Man, working with distinction, until retiring as a Plant Technician, at the age of 56.
J.D. had a passion for fishing, camping, calculating mathematical furlongs of horse racing, fixing and repairing everything from trinkets to appliances to complete home remodels. After retiring, he would jokingly say, “Now I’m a Real Estate Entrepreneur with a Degree of fixing everything.” There truly wasn’t anything he would not try to fix.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 69 years, Bonnelle “Bonnie” Yvonne Summers Madden, son Steven Wayne Madden and family of Shreveport, Louisiana, daughter Mona Madden LeFeat and family of Manning, South Carolina, brother Jerry Madden and family of Linden, Texas, sister Georgia Pearson and family of Dangerfield, Texas, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren and many other beloved nieces and nephews.
J.D. was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Madden, sisters Jean Madden Boyd, Judy Madden Lee and Wanda Madden Hughes, son, Robert Dewayne Madden and daughter, Lisa Yvonne Madden.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM, Monday, Sept. 29th followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. at the Hill Crest Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard, LA.
Bro. John Anderson will officiate.
J.D. will be laid to rest at a family cemetery in Foreman, Arkansas at 2:00 PM.
Honoring J.D as pallbearers will be: Christopher Burt, James Pearson, Jr., Doug Madden, David Sellers and Keith LeFeat.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
