Jerry Lewis Brantley, age 85, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on September 4, 1941, and lived a life marked by faith, devotion to family, and kindness toward others.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Zola May Grissom and Fred Brantley from Spearsville, Louisiana; his brothers, Freddie and Robert Brantley, from Kilgore, Texas.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Mona Ruth Jones Brantley, whose partnership and love were the foundation of a lifetime of cherished memories. Together they built a family that was Jerry's greatest pride and joy. He is also survived by his loving sister, Connie LeDoux, from Breaux Bridge, Louisiana.
He leaves behind his son, Christopher Lane Brantley and wife, Rachal; and his daughter, Kimberly Shea White and husband, Todd. He was a proud grandfather to Caitlin Christine Bass (Scott), Gunner Lane Brantley (Adanna), Tucker Heath Brantley, Brittany White Zimmer (Jacob), and Mollie White Mason (Conner). His family brought him immense happiness, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them.
Jerry served his country in the US Navy and was on active duty during the Vietnam War.
He graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and enjoyed a successful career in Sales. Throughout his life, however, his greatest accomplishments were not measured by professional achievements but by the lives he touched.
A man of strong Christian faith, Jerry was an active participant in his church and dedicated much of his time to serving others. As a young man, he led college-age youth groups, helping guide and encourage young people in their walk with Christ.
Jerry found great joy in tending to his beautiful yard and gardens. You would find Jerry outside working with a hammer in one hand and a saw in the other. Once retired, he and Mona shared a love for travel. He loved hiking in the National Parks. Whether gathered around a table playing games with family, traveling to new places, or simply enjoying time outdoors, Jerry cherished the moments that brought loved ones together.
Some of his happiest times were spent watching his grandkids sports, sitting around a backyard fire with his grandsons sharing hunting and fishing stories, enjoying lake days with his granddaughters, and the simple joy of being together.
Jerry will be remembered for his sense of humor and how he loved to cut up and make people laugh.
The family finds comfort in knowing that he is now resting in the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ.
