

Graveside services for Jerry Gray Wise, 81, will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Northwest Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Air Force. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home in Shreveport.
Jerry was born in Homer, Louisiana on September 9, 1935 and passed away on July 6, 2017. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Governor Bobby Jindal presented the Louisiana Medal of Honor to Jerry in 2010. Jerry was an honor graduate of Northwestern State University in 1957, where he majored in accounting. His career began in Houston with one of the big four accounting firms at the time. His accomplishments at the firm led him into a position with the US Government. He was a Special Agent in the Intelligence Division and a Criminal Investigator for the US Treasury Department. He later became a Certified Fraud Examiner and opened practices in Nacogdoches, Texas and Shreveport, Louisiana, where he retired.
Jerry is preceded in death by his mother, Adele Brown; father, Raleigh G. Wise; son, Jeffrey G. Wise; step-daughter, Roni L. Harlowe; sister, Carolyn Wise; and grandson, Clayton Rodrigues. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Betty Wise; daughter, Sheila Rodrigues and husband Rick; step-daughter, Casey Henderson and husband Ken; brother, Glen Wise; sister, Sherry Hammond and husband Danny; as well as nine grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
