Jimmy graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1967. He later received a degree in Business Administration from Bossier Parish Community College. He served in the United States Marine Corp and was a Vietnam veteran. Jimmy retired with over 20 years service with the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier.
He was an avid stamp and coin collector. He loved crossword puzzles, spent Sunday's watching westerns especially John Wayne and listening to Beatles music. Jimmy enjoyed playing his guitar and harmonica. After retirement, he could be found gardening in his yard or traveling. Jimmy was baptized on April 10, 1960 and loved attending church. He was a former Deacon at Morningside Baptist Church. Jimmy was known for his quick wit and quirky sense of humor. If you knew Jimmy, you knew laughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Elise Pollard Screws.
He is survived by daughters, Rachel Linebach and husband Keith and Heather Screws and husband Dustin; grandchildren, Lauren Linebach, Serenity McManus and Elaina McManus; great grandchildren, Sebastian Foreman and Shiloh McManus; brothers, Kerry Krews, Dewayne Screws and wife Peggy, Aaron Screws and wife Gail and a host of nieces ,nephews and cousins.
A visitation for Jimmy will be held Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 4::00 PM to 6:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A Celebration of Life service will occur Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Ketchum officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Linebach, Joshua Krews, Jacob Krews, Jerry Hasty and Kevin Landers.
