Jimmye Dell Keene Warren went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 21, 2025 surrounded by her loving and adoring family. She truly loved the Lord and was such a wonderful example of the Christian walk which she lived to its highest ideal. She was a truly wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Jimmye was born March 15, 1941 in Jena, LA to her father Henry Gove Keene and her mother Keitha Keene. She grew up in her early years in Jena, LA until later moving with her family to Shreveport, LA where she attended Fair Park High School. She later became a successful real estate agent working in that industry for many years. She was a member of Sunset Acres Baptist Church in Shreveport LA and served under the ministry of Dr. Charles Harvey. Jimmye was a current member of the Friendship Class at Brookwood Baptist Church. Her love for her family was only exceeded by her love for Jesus, as she was a gifted bible scholar and taught Sunday school class for many years. Jimmye cherished family time, and her home was a welcoming place to all. She always kept her door open to family, friends, and visitors and always made sure that you never left her house hungry. She was a wonderful mother not only to her family but also to a host of others who she came to know as she freely poured her love and energy into all she cared for in her life. She loved to attend sporting events for her children and grandchildren throughout the years and was an avid watcher of all different kinds of sports. She loved to watch football and basketball especially and could keep up with the games better than most! She was an amazing storyteller with a sharp and keen mind for detail and had the most wonderful sense of humor. She was a wonderfully wise mother and grandmother that had insightful advice and always had a sense of the right thing to say for any situation. Jimmye was an extraordinary woman who lived a truly extraordinary life. She will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Jimmye was preceded in death by her father Henry Gove Keene and stepfather Armon Dring and mother Keitha Keene Dring Stouffer. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years Jerry Dean Warren Sr., sister Johnnie Compton and husband Michael Compton, son Jerry Dean Warren Jr., son Jimmy Dale Warren and granddaughter Brandi Nicole Benner. Left to cherish her memory are sisters Jerry Glynn Moore and Jacque Dring, son Jeffery Don Warren, son Jon Daren Warren Sr. (J.D.) and wife Susan, daughter Jill Denise Warren, daughter-in-law Betsy Warren and daughter-in-law Meredith Lucius. Jimmye is also survived by grandchildren, Jerry Dean Warren III and wife Amanda, Jon Daren Warren Jr. and wife Cynthia, Brittany Elise Benner, Joshua Daniel Warren and wife Brittani, Mark Warren, Malayna Lucius and Mason Warren. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Jonah Warren, Sarah Warren, Norah Warren, Marcia Warren, Lily Warren and Connor Brown. Also left to cherish her memory are an entire host of cousins, extended family and close friends who loved her very much and will miss her so very dearly.
There will be a graveside service at 1 PM on Friday October 24 at Forest Park West Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jon Daren Warren Sr., Jerry Dean Warren III, Jonah Daniel Warren, Jon Michael Compton, Doug Johnson and Chris Lodico. Honorary Pallbearers are Jeffery Don Warren, Jon Daren Warren Jr., Joshua Daniel Warren, Melvin Williams, Martin Lentz, Houston Moss, Woody Jackson, J.D. Landis, Eddie Joe Power, Kurt Wells, Eddie Dick and Robby Grubbs. Officiating the service will be Bro. John Harp of Brookwood Baptist Church.
