After proudly serving his country in the Army, JM returned to marry the love of his live, Faye Ferguson. He started his own business, Calhoun’s Radio and Television, which has been in operation for 58 years. JM was known to be a hard worker and took pride in his work and his customers. He also loved his land, raising cattle and farming. JM enjoyed riding his tractor or his four-wheeler around his land.
JM and wife Faye were married for 59 years. Faye said JM was spoiled by his mother when she married him and she continued the process. JM loved his family and was determined to assure their necessities were met while instilling the importance of hard work in all of his children. JM would light up when talking about his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The walls of his business are lined with pictures of his family. One wall of his business is special because he has charted the growth of his grandchildren. This is one of many things he has left us to cherish.
JM is preceded in death by his parents Jeff Calhoun and Mamie Sue Calhoun Conn; sister Vernie Dowden and twin siblings Joe Calhoun and Joyce Dubois; nephew Kenny King.
Survivors are wife Faye Calhoun, sons Mike and Karen Calhoun, Tim and Sherry Calhoun; daughters Chanda and Debbie Calhoun and Sherry Calhoun Kaufman; Grandchildren, Justin and Misty Calhoun, Megan and Daniel McMurray, Mallory and Adam Romero, Nathaniel Calhoun, Ashley and Jason Hatch, Cole Kaufman and Paige Kaufman; Great-grandchildren, Matt Calhoun, Dylane Dotson, Heath McMurry, Skylar Medlin, Cameron Medlin, Cade Romero and Emarie Romero.
