JoAnn Cathey Holloway, 94, was born in Gibsland, LA on March 28, 1931, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 to be with her Lord and Savior. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard & Ida Cathey, of Shreveport, LA, her husband, Perry G. Holloway, Stepson, Ray E. Holloway, both of Shreveport, LA, Brother, James P. Cathey of Alexandria, LA, Sisters, Lyndal Phillips and Eleanor (Biddie) Arceneaux, both of Shreveport, LA.
She is survived by her Stepson, Randall W. Holloway, of Jacksonville, FL and Stepdaughter, Mary Beth Haughton and husband, Wade, of Las Vegas, NV and many nieces and nephews. JoAnn has 6 Grandchildren and 9 Great-grandchildren. She will be missed by many more family members and friends who loved her dearly.
Mrs. Holloway was a faithful member of Broadmoor Baptist Church for many, many years. In the early to mid 1960’s she worked for SWEPCO and in the early 1970’s she volunteered at Schumpert Hospital. JoAnn, along with her sisters Lyndal and Biddie, delivered Meals on Wheels together and enjoyed every minute of it. For years she and her sisters met most mornings for coffee at the kitchen table and read God’s word together. She loved people and never had an unkind word towards anyone. Her memory will live on in the hearts of everyone she touched.
A special thank you goes out to all the Caregivers, Always Best Care, Gentiva Hospice, and nieces Janet Arceneaux and Cyndie Reid who took such good care of JoAnn and an extra special thank you to Janet who spent many hours over the years with the Caregivers and running all the errands and doing anything JoAnn needed or asked for. She was always willing and we are so grateful to her.
