John Conrad Gehl

Shreveport, LA- Memorial services celebrating the life of John Conrad Gehl, 82, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2012 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Father Charles Glorioso. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service at Centuries.

Mr. Gehl was born on December 31, 1929 in Chicago, IL and passed away on June 10, 2012 in Shreveport, LA. John graduated with a finance degree from George Williams College. He worked for GMAC for 10 years in finance before moving to Shreveport in 1966 to begin the first McDonald’s franchise in the area. He retired after 35 years. John enjoyed playing golf, traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Gehl.

Left to cherish beautiful memories of Mr. Gehl is his wife Dolores Gehl; children, Rachel Kalbacher and husband Mark, John Gehl and wife Kathy and Kurt Gehl and wife Faye; grandchildren, Kristin, Erin and Leigh Kalbacher, as well as, Anna Katie, Kurt M., Kevin and Elizabeth Gehl.
