John David Holland, age 70, of Many, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. John was born October 5, 1949 in Many, Louisiana to Lee and Percy Holland.
John was a production Supervisor at Boise Cascade for 43 years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing with family and friends and vacationing with his family. Those who knew John knew that he would give you the shirt off his back. However, if you stepped out of line he would set ya straight in a New York minute. He was the best samaritan around. He helped numerous people and if they needed a place to stay, eat or any mechanical help he was there. He gave the best advice whenever you asked. He was the best Husband and Daddy we could have ever asked for and there wasn’t a thing he wouldn’t do for us. We weren’t ready for him to go but the place that God had prepared for him was ready.
Left to cherish John's memory are his wife Claudette Holland; daughters Tanyanetha Holland and Koeika Choate; son Jon Holland; sisters Pearlie Mujahid, Myrtis Williams, Gwendolyn Sweet (James), Linda Holland and Dinah Williams (Robert); brothers Bernice Holland (Marlene), Nathan Holland (Vera) and Joseph Holland (Mattie); grandchildren Joshua Holland, Keenahn Oliphant, Jakobi Holland (Stephanie), Arlyssia Perry, Mackenzie Holland-Choate, Justin Holland and Xander Holland; great grandchildren Weslyn Holland, King Oliphant and Levi. John is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews that will miss their Uncle John dearly.
John was preceded in death by his father Percy Holland and mother Lee Holland; sister Carolyn Williams.
A memorial service for John will be held Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Rd, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108.
