Jonathan "John" David Ross, 70, passed away on September 4, 2026. Born on October 31, 1955 in Columbia Missouri, John was a beloved presence to those who knew him, and his life reflected the steady dedication of a hard-working man. He was a resident of Shreveport, Louisiana.
John earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics at Northeast Missouri State University, a foundation that spoke to his diligence and determination. In the quieter moments of life, he found enjoyment in following the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, and he took pleasure in reading novels by Tom Clancy and John Grisham. He also loved Coca Cola and grew an impressive memorabilia.
John is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sharon Lindsay Ross of Shreveport; his brother, James (Jim) C. Ross (Janet); his sisters, Jeanette Loree Adcock (Roy) of Missouri and Amy Jolene Vaughn (Robert) of Missouri.
He was preceded in death by parents J.C. Ross and Joyce L. Stratton Ross of Missouri; and his brother, Jerrold (Jerry) S. Ross.
A committal service for John will be held Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 10am at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71108, in Memories Garden. Officiating the service will be Dr. John Sullivan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Samaritan's Purse and Broadmoor Baptist Church Library.
