Castor, LA- A graveside service celebrating the life of Johnny Parker Rowell, 80, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery on Hwy. 4 between Castor and Ringgold. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home in Shreveport.
Johnny was born on June 23, 1935 and passed away just after midnight on May 29, 2016, just one month short of his 81st birthday.
He was proud of the time he spent building churches all over the country and proud of the fact that he built his own home in the woods. He graduated from Byrd High School in 1953 and attended Louisiana Tech. He worked for AT&T and the Bell system for 35 years and then owned his own business, Area Communications, for eight years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Odee and Anne Rowell and his beloved grandparents.

He is survived by his dear wife, Patricia Frances, his children, John Parker Jr. and Cindy Lou, George Richmond and Shelia Smelly, William Dean and Pamela Darlene Bass Rowell and Darlene Michelle and James Michael Hussmann, Andrew Nathaniel, James Houghton and Rene’e Marie Necko, and John Adam and Leigh Elizabeth Pope Annand. He also leaves thirteen grand-children, Joseph Richmond, Dee Marsh, Eric Dean and Ashley Rowell, Joy Anna Rowell McCartney and Jeremy, and Camille Elise and Jillian Paige Hussmann, Zachary Nathaniel, Gabriella Lauren Eloisa, Noah Edward, Amber Niccole, Andrew Houghton, Aidan Thomas and Ayrnn Kethely Annand. plus twin great-granddaughters, Auslie and Kylie Guenter. , He also leaves a sister, Maggie Jane Rowell Shuler, his aunt Jewel Owens and the mother of his children, Billie June Wise Rowell.
