It’s 2020 and I just had a dream about Joe and Jay.  As a childhood friend of Jay, I always remember his dad and how pleasant he was to me.  He kept the most well kept yard on the block and everything had it’s place.  Joe had one of the first pickups in the neighborhood to the consternation of some of the neighbor ladies.  I didn’t get it.  The Tuminello’s were the best neighbors anyone could have.  Rest In Peace Jay’s dad, Joe.  I will always have fond memories of what a wonderful person you were. Joe, you were a great friend and a hard worker.  You loved everyone and we all appreciate and miss you so much.  I have backyard items you built for me in my shop and those are now momentos of our long friendship.

Dad, I will always remember you coming home late evenings after welding all day. Mom cooking supper and me asking you let's go outside and play catch in the backyard, ( knowing today you were tired) you never said no. Thank you for all the great father son times. I Love You Dad! Thank you dad for your service to our country. I salute you.

Thank you Joe for all the wonderful things you did in your life. You will always be remembered here at Caddo Fab.

I wish peace and God's love to you, Mary, and all your family.  Joe was a very special man.  I worked with him at Coates, and he was a real blessing to me, a bright part of my time there.  My prayers are with you in your loss.  Thank you for sharing Joe with me.

The Final Salute

Brothers in Arms, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged Hand Salutes as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another. 

This Hand Salute is the last that we shall render to Joseph Tuminello our Brother-in-Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Joe. And to Joe it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country while serving in the U.S. Navy. Joe, we commend you for your honorable service. You are a true patriot, who served with honor and distinction. You upheld the finest qualities of an American patriot warrior: courage, commitment, generosity, sacrifice, love and devotion to family and country. You were a true friend. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.

Mary, Randy and Jay; I wish I could be there but I want you all to know that Joe was very special person who helped a young man through the awkward teen-age years and was a good friend as an adult. God bless you and give you peace.
