A steady and capable professional, Joyce built her working life as an accountant for trucking firms and other businesses, bringing care and diligence to the responsibilities entrusted to her. Those who knew her best will remember not only what she did, but the quiet strength and reliability with which she did it. She was also a faithful member of Shreveport Baptist Temple where she honored and served the Lord faithfully.
Joyce’s heart was most evident in the way she gave of herself. A generous and giving person, she offered support in ways both practical and heartfelt, and her love for her family remained a constant source of meaning and pride throughout her life.
She also found joy in the comforts of home and the simple pleasures of everyday life. Joyce loved to shop and had an eye for interior collectibles that reflected her personal style. She was a devoted cat lover, especially to her three cats—Scooter, Copper, and Firefly—who brought her companionship and comfort.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Sherri Ellis; son-in-law, Rick Ellis; grandson, Brady Loflin (Erin); and granddaughter, Bea Loflin. She was preceded in death by her father, Emil Langner; her mother, Irene Sectkinger Langner; her brother, David Langner; and her husband, Sandy Sandifer.
Visitation will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108, on August 31, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at the same location on August 31, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am. Bro. Rick Ellis will be officiating in the absence of Bro. Howard Hall due to his recent health issues. Special music will be provided by Bro. Ray Joslyn. Interment will be at Centuries Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Rick Ellis, Brady Loflin, Mason Warren, Olan Davis, James Futch, and Fred Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Loflin, Steve D'Anna, and Davis Farrar.
The family extends sincere gratitude to caregiver and family friend, Kiersten Ross, for her kindness, presence, and devoted care. They would also like to thank Shreveport Baptist Temple pastor and church family for the meal provided and their prayers and expressions of sympathy.
