Juanita B. Davis

Shreveport, LA- Services to honor the life of Juanita Joy Brown Davis, 85, will be held at 2 P.M., Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The Family will receive guests Saturday evening between the hours of 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.

Juanita Joy Brown Davis was born Tuesday, December 31, 1929 in Coushatta, LA and entered into peaceful rest on Wednesday, Dec 23, 2015. She grew up in Natchitoches, LA and Shreveport. She graduated from Byrd High School in 1946. After high school she attended business school and went to work for the Shreveport Journal where she met Ernest, the love of her life. They settled down and raised three children together, all the while attending Sunset Acres Baptist Church. Juanita was a child of God her entire life. She was a devoted servant and pillar of the family. In her later years she and Ernest enjoyed 4th Friday and Dominoes at Springs of Grace Baptist Church with most of the members of their Sunday School class.

Juanita was preceded in death by her beloved Husband Ernest and by her parents, Herbert Guill Brown and Myrtie Brown; and brothers, Jerry Lynn Brown. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted daughters, Brenda Mills and husband Randy, Cheryl Crawford and husband John; son, Ernie H. Davis, Jr. Brothers, James Eldridge Brown and Joe Donna Brown. Eight Grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

Honoring Mrs Davis as pallbearers are: Mike Davis, Doug Davis, David Hartwell, Jimmy Hartwell, Billy Bonds, Tony Mitchell.
