June was born August 24, 1926 in Noxapater, Mississippi. She moved to Shreveport after meeting the love of her life Ray Shelton. June held various part time jobs for extra money but was mainly a loving housewife, mother, and grandmother.
She was a Charter Member of Morningside Baptist Church/Kingston Road, where she faithfully served the Lord by helping with Girls in Action, singing in the choir and teaching children's Sunday School for over 35 years.
Her favorite pastimes were cooking, sewing, gardening, and loved working in local grocery stores where, she would demo foods. She never met a stranger and loved everyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Jackson and Lillie Leona Parks; husband, Ray Shelton; son, Robert Earl Shelton; and her only sister, Kathleen Hemphill.
Left to cherish beautiful memories of June are her daughters, Mary Shelton; Barbara Skinner (David); son, Donald Shelton; grandchildren, Meghan Trybus and Chris Skinner; brothers, Bobby Parks(Dot), Mack Parks, Billy Parks (Becky) and Albert Parks (Joyce) of Mississippi; and numerous nieces and nephews and close friends.
Serving, as pallbearers are Lamar Nunnery, Denny Morrison, Mike Western, Justin Western, Dickie Smith and Bob Trybus.
