Karen Elizabeth Henderson

BETHANY, LA – Karen Henderson passed into God’s hands on March 27, 2010 after a lengthily illness.

Visitation will be on Tuesday March 30, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Centuries. Services honoring the life of Karen Elizabeth Henderson will be at Centuries Memorial Park on Mansfield Road with interment there at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2010.

Karen was born in Shreveport, LA on December 16, 1960. She was preceded in death by her mother Marie K. (Malpass) Rhodes and father Val H. Rhodes. After earning her undergraduates Degree at LSUS and went on to obtain her Master’s Degree at Centenary College. Karen taught 5th graders at Keithville Elementary School for 16 years and loved her children very much.

She fell in love and married STEPHEN “STEVE” HENDERSON on May 21, 1988. She had one young son, Robbie Myers from a previous marriage and then another wonderful boy Stephen Gregory with her husband Stephen! Karen had just attended, two weeks prior to her passing, the marriage of her oldest son Robbie. This was one of the highlights of her life. All her spare time was spent with preparing her teaching assignments, grading homework, digging in the garden with her husband and taking care of her son’s.

Karen is survived by her son Stephen as well as Robbie and his new wife Sonny. Daughter Chasity Henderson, her twin sister Terry R. Brock and her older brother Wm. Howard Malpass.

Pallbearers will be: Robbie Myers, Stephen Henderson, Thomas Drain, Mike Wimberly, Brian Loftin, Wallis Mays and Eric O’Keefe.
