Mary Katherine Ham "Kathy" Bruno, 90, was born December 23, 1935, in Annona, Texas, and passed away March 28, 2026 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Kathy was a longtime resident of Shreveport, Louisiana. She honorably served in the United States Air Force.
Originally from Deport, Texas, Kathy came to Shreveport, Louisiana, in 1956, where she built a life grounded in family, faithfulness, and quiet strength.
Kathy married Joseph R. Bruno Jr. on December 30, 1957, and they shared 66 years of marriage. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose steady presence shaped the lives of those who loved her.
Kathy was a creative and caring woman with many interests, including photography, gardening, sewing, cake decorating, ceramic painting, and watching sunsets. She loved most of all spending time with her family and her beloved dogs.
She is survived by her daughters, Angela Taylor (Jay) and Ann Bruno; grandchildren, Michael Coke (Christina), Joseph McCubbin, Sean Taylor, and Emma Taylor; sister, Sandra Jeffus; brothers, Duwayne Ham and Gerald Ham; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Joseph R. Bruno Jr.; her father, Ernest Ham; her mother, Nanie Bell Tuck Ham; brothers, Robert Ham and Charles Ham; and sister, Nell Shull.
A visitation will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home & Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108, on April 3, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home & Park on April 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in Centuries Memorial Park.
