With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished and beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Kathy Palmer Carroll, 68. Kathy passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Kathy lived a beautiful life. Beautiful both on the inside and the outside. Born January 29, 1957, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to the late Patsy and Melvin Peek. Her vibrant life, centered around faith, family, friends, service, and joy. A proud graduate of Trinity Heights high school and Northwestern School of Nursing.
She began her career as a Registered Nurse, an identity that she held dear to her heart. Her passion for caregiving led her to various medical facilities in the Shreveport area, where she served in many capacities but primarily as an Operating Room Nurse. Later, her career transitioned into medical device sales, as she continued to work directly with patients and physicians. Continuing to provide the same care, empathy, and professionalism that defined both her career and her life.
Affectionately known as “Noni” to her grandchildren. Kathy’s heart belonged to her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Chuck Carroll, and her beloved children: Ashley Palmer Terese (Stephen), Britney Palmer Newell (Trey), and Adam Chase Palmer (Eloise). She was the proud grandmother of Grace, Palmer, and Parker Newell; Cash and Clarke Terese; and John Henry Palmer. She also leaves behind stepsons Justin Carroll (Amanda) and Chase Carroll (Stacie); her siblings Donna Flores and Bobby Peek; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
Kathy cherished her friendships, and her friends encompassed all areas of her life. Each were special to her. She was not known for just enjoying her friendships, but for being a good friend. From beach adventures to helping in times of sadness and difficulty.
Kathy had a deep and evolving faith journey. Raised in the Nazarene Church, she later converted to Catholicism and, in recent years, found a spiritual home at The Simple Church alongside her husband, Chuck. Her faith was evident in the way she treated others. Always displaying kindness, humility, and compassion.
Beyond her professional and spiritual life, Kathy embraced joy. She was an avid tennis player, competing in various tournaments. She enjoyed the beach. It was her happy place. Whether on the white sands of Destin or exploring numerous islands in the Caribbean. The beach brought her peace and a special perspective.
Kathy’s warm, generous, kind spirit made her a treasure to so many. She had a quick wit. She was fun, fiercely loyal, and full of life. Her laughter, strength, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to dear friends, Mary Bridges, Peggy Herring and Sherry Giglio. Pastor Justin Haigler and the Simple Church Team. Liz Williams, Kathy’s devoted caregiver, the staff of The Glen’s Memory Care Cottages, St. Joseph Hospice and doctors Russell Tynes and Ricky Bass for all their extraordinary care, time and compassion.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 14 from 5:00–7:00 PM at Centuries Memorial, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA. A Celebration of Life will follow on Wednesday, October 15 at 2:00 PM at the same location, officiated by Pastors Justin Haigler and Dennis Blackwell. Graveside service to follow.
