Larry was born in Shreveport, LA, on February 9, 1952 to Lunie D. and Lucille Flowers.
Larry had a forty year career as a skilled machinist and ultimately retired from Libbey Glass.
Larry was a very quiet and reserved person around people he didn’t know and large groups. But get him around friends and family and you would be rolling in the floor with laughter. He had such a quick wit, no one could match his comebacks if ever put to the test. Everyone knew Larry was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing and afterwards cooking his bounty for others. With a passion for cooking, many would say his cooking methods were strictly his own. He wanted everything “well done” and without much seasoning. Not being discouraged from the comments, he would go right on cooking every meal his way. Last but not least, he loved cooking for and spending time with his family.
Larry was preceded in death by his Father: Lunie D. Flowers; Mother: Lucille Flowers Anderson; Brothers: Albert Ethridge and Willie (Punch) Ethridge; Nephews: Randy and Ricky Ethridge.
Larry is survived by: his adoring Wife: Debbie Thomas Kelly Flowers; Children: Chad Flowers and wife Lyndsey; Lindsey Weaks and husband Kevin; Step-Children: Dr. Brandi Kelly Primeaux and husband Thad; and Rachel Kelly. Also left behind to cherish their ‘Paw Paw’ and Granpaw’s memory are his Grandchildren: Caden, Brody, Brantley and Camden Flowers; Mackenzie and Cameron Primeaux; Carter, Mitchell, and Delanie Martin. Left to carry on his legacy are his Sisters: Mary Jane (Judy) Dumas and husband Dennis and Charlotte Dunlop; Step-Sister: Sherry Rashall; Brother: Lawrence Flowers and wife Debi; Sister-In-Law: Velta Ethridge; along with many nieces and nephews.
It goes without saying that Larry will be greatly missed !
The Family would like to say a special Thank You to the Christus Cancer Treatment Center and Christus Hospital Doctors and Nurses for their caring and professionalism.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Larry’s honor be made to Christus Cancer Treatment Center, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
