On March 1, 2016 LaWana B. Castanes was called home to be with the Lord. She is survived by her husband John A. Castanes, who she was married to for 45 years. She is also survived by daughter Tracey Schrader with husband Tim, Mindy Bishop with husband Charlie and 2 children Austin and Cole, and son Aaron Castanes with wife Erin and 4 children, Kaleb, Abigail, Zakery, and Gabriel.
She was involved with Immanuel Lutheran Church; the choir, the craft bazaars, and with Lutherans for Life. She loved playing the piano and clarinet. She was always willing to help anyone who needed help. She loved to teach the next generation of children as a substitute teacher, known to her students as Mrs. C. Her other interests included reading books, and making jewelry. Her real passion was talking to everyone she met.
Funeral Services will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Monday March 7, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Viewing will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home in Shreveport on Sunday March 6, 2016 from 5-7 pm.
