Born on September 17, 1944, in Providence, Rhode Island, Les lived a full life marked by dedication to his family, his career, and the culture he loved. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in General Studies and a Master’s degree in Biology, and he devoted 26 years of service to the State of Louisiana.
Les was known for his love of LSU, cigars, New Orleans, Cajun food, and crawfish, and he truly embraced all things Louisiana. His appreciation for the state’s culture and spirit was evident to everyone who knew him.
Les is survived by his loving children: Michael Biggs and wife Michele, and grandchildren Macie Wessels and Ryan, and Mabry Biggs; Christopher Biggs and wife Casey, and grandchildren Peyton, Paxton, and Presley Biggs; and Lewynell Provost and husband Brandon, and granddaughter Olivia. He is also survived by his former spouse and the mother of his children, Debney Biggs, and by his longtime partner and dear friend, Patricia Penton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Miranda Biggs and Oscar Lewynell Biggs, and by his former spouse, Jennifer Hodges Biggs.
In accordance with his wishes, no funeral or memorial services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
Les will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy, warmth, and love for his family will always be remembered.
