Oh momma . How I miss you . Your every day phone calls just to talk because ur lonely or one of use calling each other to check on one another . I miss you so much and things are not the same without you here . As your clothes sit in this house of mine I just can’t but think ur really gone . I wish you could be here to watch me get married and engaged and have one more grandbaby brought into the world . I’m sorry you didn’t get the relationship you wanted with Layton . I’m sorry I wasn’t that great of a daughter but I tried . I love you and I wish there was a way to bring you back to talk to you one more time . It’s so hard to not pick up the phone and call you when I need to talk . I just want my momma .

Thank you for our week of  Galviston memories.  There are so many emotions that ran through me on our trip.  Most of all love.  As we walked along the beach we laughed….and cried.  We said things that needed to be said.  We shared our fears of what is to come…..  and hope in the future. 
     I have tried to be strong for you.  Silently pushing down tears that flow as I lay next to you as you sleep.  As we held hands  on that beach i felt myself break just as surly as the waves washing over our feet.  Yet somehow as we picked up seashells you also picked up the broken parts of me and put them back together.        
      You took away my anger at God and hatred of the doctors who didn’t care to look deeper. My fear of you leaving me and the void that can never be filled.  I didnt understand how you make all the fucked up pieces back into ….me.  
     But it is your love.     
     As we did our tours, dinners, shopping or just watching the ocean from our balcony i took random photos of you. You have NEVER been more beautiful.  It is a beauty that i couldn’t imagine in my younger years.  I lacked the capacity to understand what true beauty was. That it didn’t come from makeup or clothes you wore.  It can only come from putting in the work day after day because lit is worth it. It comes from the trust of years of putting someone ahead of yourself because they are worth    It comes from going through the shit life can throw at you and still coming through it together because it’s worth it ……,til the end.  Whenever that day comes, death shall have no dominion for what we have shared.   
        MY WIFE, MY LOVE, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.   MORE SO EVERY DAY.  I LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH.   YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE WORTH IT.  A THOUSAND TIMES OVER.

The most beautiful thing happened the other night. I got out of the shower and while drying off I heard the music of some sort.  You so often fall asleep with the television on but as  I listened I could tell it was not that.  Upon opening the door I saw you there, ever so softly humming a tune from some fairy tail. Both of your hands positioned as if holding someone while dancing some forgotten dance in a royal court so long ago.  You sleeping smile must have filled the royal court just as as  it  was filling our bedroom ….and my world.  One arm would sway as the other would tighten as if pulling someone closer This went on for a bit as you hummed the tune. I dared not wake you, for you were in a place where the pains of this world had not come. Cancer had not come. As you awoke I sat beside you and whispered “Would you care to dance?” As you came out of your slumber, and with all the love in your heart you inhaled deeply and replied  “Yes…..it was you. I was dancing with you”  Your arms reached out hugged my neck as I thought what an honor to be together in a part of that perfect world of dreams…..And this far from perfect one.  You smiled and laughed at how silly and foolish you must have looked and sounded. Not silly or foolish at all but beautiful in all its forms. All the pieces were in place. Nothing was falling apart. Thank you for that moment.  I love you.

I will forever cherish every moment I got to spend with you. I love you my sweet mama.

I will forever cherish every memory I have with you, some of best times of my life were with you by my side. You were like the big sister I never had, the mom I always wanted (until I was in trouble) but the most important role you played was my best friend for so many years. I know you had a hell of a welcoming party waiting for you! I love you
