Funeral services celebrating the life of Lewis Perry Hickman, Jr., 63, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2011 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Bro. Tom Carlton of Grawood Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.
Lewis was born in San Angelo, TX on January 12, 1948 and passed away on September 15, 2011 in Shreveport, LA. He was dedicated and devoted to his family and loved them very much. Mr. Hickman was a member of Grawood Baptist Church and loved his Lord, Jesus with all his heart. He was a 1996 graduate of Byrd Highschool and attended LA Tech where he received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Mr. Hickman was employed by Poulan Weed Eater for 26 years and was currently employed with Tango Transport where he served as the Vice President of Information Systems since 1997. Lewis enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling, hunting, fishing, NASCAR and LSU football.
Left to cherish beautiful memories of Lewis is his wife of 32 years, Mary Ross Hickman; parents, Lewis Perry Hickman, Sr. and Earlene Gates Hickman; children, Ross Hickman and wife Angie of Arcadia, LA and Beth Hickman of Houston, TX; brother, Ronald Kenneth Hickman and wife Elizabeth of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Aaron Ross Hickman and Carson Hickman and brother-in-law, Robert Ross and wife Pam. He is also survived by numerous other friends and relatives.
Honoring Mr. Hickman as pallbearers will be: Paul Herbert, Mike McCullough, Noah Braley, Jim Cowdin, Steve Baxter, Tommy Clark, Steve Hawkins and Glenn Dempsey.
