Linda was born on March 10, 1948 to Andrew and Lacye (Edwards) Crager in Leesville, Louisiana. She was raised in Shreveport where she graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1966 and was a member of Pinecroft Baptist Church.
She met her husband, Ranny, at the Woodlawn Dairy Queen in April 1966 and the rest they say is history. They married on August 6, 1966, and for 57 years they lived for each other and loved one another fiercely. They lived in many places and traveled the world by each other’s side.
Linda was a bookkeeper for many years. Among those she worked for are Christ United Methodist Church, Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church, The Northwest Louisiana Baptist Association, and The Franklin Graham Association. However, her favorite job came every fall when The State Fair of Louisiana started. She loved her State Fair family.
She was active in church choir, the Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU), and Acteens. Linda chaperoned many church and school trips and traveled on multiple mission trips that she thoroughly enjoyed. She was a true woman of God as she loved the Lord Jesus with all her heart.
Linda was fierce, audacious, vivacious, and bold. She spoke her mind, protected those she loved, and fought for what she believed. She was the most capable woman we have ever known or will ever know.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Lacye (Edwards) Crager and her eldest brother and sister-in-law, Milton and Margaret Crager. Linda is survived by her husband, Milton R. “Ranny” Griffin, and their three children, Daryl (Syralja), Derek (Christan), and Deidre; two grandchildren, Anna and Troy; Stephanie (Thom) Darnell and Kelsey, whom she considered a second daughter and her first grand baby. She truly would do anything for those grand babies. She is also survived by her brother and sister-at-heart, Norman and Faye Crager, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Danny and Vickie Griffin, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A special thank you to Pachausha “P,” Katina, Yasmin, Alice, Laq, Baylee, and all the nurses, aides, and staff at The Glen for taking such great care of Mama. We appreciate all of you so much.
