Lloyd A Mitcham Jr.

He was born to Lloyd A. Mitcham Sr. and Verna Lee Mitcham (née Tynes) on September 18, 1941, in Flora, Louisiana.

Lloyd lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a deep love for the outdoors. He spent many years working as a butcher for local grocery chains throughout Louisiana and Texas, building lasting friendships and earning the respect of those who knew him through his dedication and strong work ethic.

On his birthday in 1963, Lloyd met the love of his life, Ann Mitcham, née Weaver. Their meeting marked the beginning of a lifetime of shared devotion, and they were married on October 25, 1963. Together they shared more than six decades of love, family, and cherished memories.

Lloyd was a proud father to son Stephen Mitcham and wife Carla, and daughter Tina McCoy. He was a loving grandfather to Jeffery Mitcham, Whitney Mitcham, Janie Buck, Joshua Mitcham and wife Chelsee, Emily McCoy, Kay Lee McCoy, and Westin Rogers and husband Jake. He was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren and looked forward with great joy to the arrival of his first great-great-grandchild, expected in November.

In addition to his career, Lloyd was an entrepreneur who owned and operated Cedar Hill Blueberry Farm in Ringgold, Louisiana. Later in life, he and Ann fulfilled a dream of retiring to Toledo Bend in 2017, where they enjoyed the peaceful life they had worked so hard to build.

Some of Lloyd's happiest moments were spent on the water. He loved fishing every chance he got, especially with his wife, his son, and his great-grandsons. Those days created treasured memories that his family will carry with them forever.

Lloyd's greatest pride was his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend whose kindness, strength, and quiet presence will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral service, or memorial service. Instead, family and friends will gather at a later date for a fish fry to celebrate Lloyd's life, share stories, and honor the memories he leaves behind.

Though he is gone from our sight, Lloyd's legacy lives on in the family he loved so dearly and in the countless memories made around dinner tables, blueberry fields, and on the boat and dock.
