Camping trips were made even better by her oatmeal cookies and fried chicken eaten at a roadside park along the way. Known as Mimi by her grandchildren and her great grandchildren she always kept cheese for them to raid from the refrigerator. Lois and Barrett loved to travel and along with the kids, would travel to Colorado every summer. They took many camping trips throughout the U.S. Starting in a little canvas tent and finally graduating to a pop-up trailer.
