

Services will be held at Century Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108 at 2pm on Monday, January the 12th, 2026.
Lottie was preceded in death by her parents A.D. Matthews and Jennie Burns Matthews; siblings Fred, Drew, Aaron, Jean, Vada, Agnes and Betty; loving husband, William T. McGuire and dear grandson, J. Tyler McConnell.
She is survived by daughters Teri McGuire and Harriett McGuire McMichael (Carey); son Arthur T. McGuire; grandchildren Robert Lay (Katie), Thomas Lay, Ashley McConnell Smith (Matthew), Ava McGuire, William T. “Billy” McGuire and great grandchildren Liam Lay, James Weston Lay, Olive Smith and Abram J.M. Smith; and also dear friends and family.
Born in Pelican, Louisiana on June 13th, 1935, Lottie later resided in Shreveport, Louisiana with her late husband Bill McGuire, both of whom were vibrant members of the local retail community.
Lottie McGuire was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral.
She served as President for the Shreveport Symphony and served on the board of directors for the Shreveport Opera Guild and was also instrumental in Christmas In The Sky. Lottie was named Best Dressed several times throughout her life. With her love of dancing and broadway musicals, she encouraged everyone to “have and live a good life.”
The McGuire family would like to extend their most heartfelt and sincere appreciation and gratitude to Katie Blackmon, her lifelong friend and sidekick, and caregiver Tara Alexander for her exemplary care and dedication to honor Lottie's health, integrity and well-being during the end of her life. We have been blessed beyond measure.
