

Louvina Sims Lester, 73, passed from this life following a long illness on Dec. 5, 2017. “Lou” as she was known to all, was a businesswoman and a homemaker. She was Co-owner of Lester’s Tractor and Equipment for 30 years until her death. She was a gentle and caring soul with a warm smile for all she met. She loved her family dearly; she will be sorely missed by all those who knew her.
Lou was a member of Kingston Road UPC, a past matron, and a past district deputy grand matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Greenwood chapter #202.
Preceding her in death was her father, Willis Benjamin Sims., her mother Sarah Jordan Sims, and 9 siblings. Left to mourn her passing is her brother Wilbert Sims of Hobbs, NM, her husband of 56 years, 3 months and 23 days, Albert Lynn Lester, daughter Cynthia Ann Ferguson and husband Michael of Stonewall, LA , son Steven Lynn Lester and wife Patti of Rose Hill, NC, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She now rests with Jesus, beyond the veil of tears, free from all the pain and suffering she endured for so long. She awaits only her beloved husband to walk together through the gates of Heaven someday soon.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 2-4 PM at Centuries Memorial funeral Home on Mansfield Rd. in Shreveport, LA.
