

Stonewall, LA Lucille Mildred Dingman Murray was born on January 4, 1917 to George and Grace Dingman in Plainville, Michigan. They moved to Shreveport, LA when she was a baby.
She married Larry D. Murray, Sr. in 1933. They were married for over 60 years and had 3 children. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, her husband L.D. Murray, Sr., and her son L.D. Murray, Jr.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and Earl Brown, Kay and Don W Berry, Sr. all of Stonewall, LA. Daughter-in-law Lynn Murray of Shreveport, seven grandsons, 2 granddaughters, 17 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren and many friends.
Lucille graduated beauty school in 1959. She was a licensed beautician. She loved to crochet and made beautiful blankets and tablecloths for her family and special bedspreads for her 3 children. She loved games, cards and especially Bingo…where she usually won! She loved to be active and always wanted to help wherever she went.
She always wanted to live to be 100 years old. She was a very special lady and loved her family.
A service celebrating the life of Lucille M. Murray will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015, 1:30 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Kenneth Brown and Rev. Mike Hawkins. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be Friday, May 1, 2015 from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
The family would like to give special thanks to: the many nurses and aides that showed her so much love at Heritage Manor South nursing home and Life Path Hospice. Angela and Dudley Vaughan who fixed her hair and sat with her and the family during her last days, Pam Hamm, who Lucy considered a daughter, who so lovingly cared for her while she was in the hospital. Dr. Mike Hawkins who faithfully visited her at the home and who she thought so much of. To Hazel Salisbury for going so often to the nursing home and taking her favorite, jelly beans. Thanks to Pastor Mike and Pastor Brian of Shreveport Community Church and to all our extended family and friends for your thoughts and prayers during this time.
