

SHREVEPORT, LA – Celebration of Life services for Malcolm Allen McKellar will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
Born May 11, 1917 in Plain Dealing, LA, he was the eldest child of Myrtis and Harry Clifton McKellar. Mr. McKellar passed away May 30, 2013 of natural causes at the age of 96.
Mr. McKellar was a graduate of Louisiana Tech and earned his Phar.D. from Loyola University. He enjoyed many years as a pharmacist at McKellar Sunset Drugstore. Mr. McKellar proudly served his country as a Captain in the United States Army while in the European Theater during World War II.
Preceding him in death is his beloved wife of 63 years, Freda McDade McKellar; his parents; his sister, Edna Metcalf and brother, James McKellar.
Surviving Mr. McKellar are his daughter, Maleda McKellar Kunkle; two sisters, Rosemary Gray and Janet Coleman; along with three nephews, David and Allen Gray and Cony Metcalf.
