

Shreveport, LA Manuel was born at home on March 4, 1939, near Vivian, LA, to Coy and Eunice Holt. He went home to be with the Lord on February 2, 2016, after a heroic battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was a resident of Shreveport, LA and a member of Southern Hills Church of Christ.
Manuel honorably served his country in the Army and while he was in the National Guard, he went to work at Arkla Gas Company. After a long career with Arkla, he retired from the gas control department. He loved the outdoors and spending time with family. He worked hard and was a man of integrity. He was a strong Christian husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather.
Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, Coy and Eunice and his older brother Oliver. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Jane Holt; daughter, Monica Schmidt and husband John; son, Dr. Jeff Holt and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Christopher, Kimberly and Michael Schmidt and Bailey and Sarah Holt; siblings, Ann Dearing, Charlotte Wicks, Richard Holt and wife Paulette and Cliff Holt; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Richard Holt, Jr., Timothy Holt, Thomas Holt, Mark Stalsby, Scotty Prince and Dewayne Green.
The family would like to thank Dr. Tivakaran, Dr. Nicholls, Dr. Wilden, Dr. Overdyke, Dr. Fitzgerald and the entire staff of Willis Knighton South Behavioral Medicine for their outstanding care.
