

SHREVEPORT, LA – Celebration of Life services for Margaret Sebren Dunbar, 67, will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2012, in Centuries Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Price Harris of Price Harris Ministries and Bro. Steve Gilley of Calvary Baptist, where she was a member. Interment will immediately follow in the Centuries Memorial Park, Shreveport, LA. The family will be receiving friends for visitation Monday, January 9, 2012, from the hours of 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Centuries also.
Margaret Sebren Dunbar was born October 23, 1944, in Pleasant Hill, LA to John Stanley Sebren and Wilma Berry Sebren. She was called to her Heavenly home following a courageous battle with cancer on January 5, 2012, surrounded by family in the comfort of her own home. After retiring from the Caddo Parish Commission in 2007, she enjoyed traveling with friends and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a dedicated Christian who loved her Lord as was evidenced by her sweet and gentle soul. She was beloved by many.
Margaret was preceded in death by her father John Stanley Sebren. Left to cherish Margaret’s memory will be her husband of 44 years; Richard Dudley Dunbar, her mother; Wilma Berry Sebren, one son; Lt. Col. William Heath Dunbar and wife Leigh of El Paso, TX, one daughter; Jennifer Dunbar Bullock and husband Chris of Bossier City, LA, two sisters; Katherine West and husband Gerry, and Brenda Goudeau and husband Bruce both of Shreveport, LA, and their daughter Kelly Gee. She had five grandchildren: Erin Elizabeth Bullock, Brandon Christopher Bullock, Wyatt Neil Dunbar, Iris Katherine Dunbar, and Cora Grace Dunbar, along with numerous extended family members and many wonderful friends.
The family would like to express special thanks to WK Hospice nurse, Lucie Grove and Chaplain Dana Casey along with Dr. Charles Hargon and the chemo nurses at WK Cancer Center’s 2nd floor, and also Dr. Kenneth Fitzgerald III.
Honoring Margaret as pallbearers will be Monroe Daniel, John Thrower, Charles Hicks, Tommy Meredith, Forest Mitchell, Jerry Fielder, Roger Hopper and JJ Keen.
Honorary pallbearers will be the “BORED” MEETING.
